Q3: What can I expect in terms of support and training?
Ambleside teachers are provided on-going training and support from the administration as well as off-site training through Ambleside Schools International. The off-site training consists of a three-day internship during the academic year as well as one week of training during the summer break, known as the Summer Institute. Additionally, staff participate in a study of one of Charlotte Mason’s books in the Home Education Series. Specific, practical training is also provided in the form of various texts and discussions at staff meetings. Regular classroom observations are intended to identify areas of teacher strength and weakness, and to provide teachers with the needed support, counsel and encouragement they need as they grow in the practice of the Ambleside educational philosophy.
