Jaqui grew up in western Kentucky and moved with her husband Nick to Ocala in 1981, while working in the Thoroughbred business. In 1983, they started their own business, de Meric training and sales, and over the years it has grown into one of the most successful in the area. They consider themselves blessed to be parents of two grown children and five phenomenal grandchildren and are thrilled that the eldest three are currently attending Ambelside. It is ironic as their our own children attended Grace Episcopal school on this very same campus. Jacqui is also the vice president of the Ocala Farm Ministry, which is a division of the Racetrack Chaplaincy of America. They serve horse farm workers and their families. In the past twenty years they have purchased land, built a regulation sized soccer field, a church community center and a small school for tutoring with a broadband computer lab. Her goal as a board member is to help encourage other grandparents and family members to share their knowledge and experience with our Ambelside staff and students. She truly believe that this can be a win/win for everyone involved.
