Purpose
The Ambleside Afternoons Program is provided in order to broaden the availability of an Ambleside education to those families requiring care for their children after the 1:00 release time in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Philosophy & Program
We believe that shorter days in the classroom for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade provide the ideal schedule for bringing up younger children. However, we realize that some children come from homes where a single parent or both parents work. For these reasons, Ambleside Afternoons will provide a consistent approach to caring for young children between the mid-day release, and the full day release of 3:00 p.m.
The same peaceful atmosphere, training in habit, and inspirational ideas cultivated during the morning hours of school will be provided in the afternoons. Children will hear stories read from living books, enjoy extended play outdoors, have time to rest and engage in meaningful, practical tasks, this includes some seasonal activities (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.), as well as everyday work (handwork, gardening, etc.). Parents will need to provide a healthy sack lunch for their children participating in the Afternoons program.
Tuition
The cost of the program is $1,950 for the school year. The cost for Ambleside Afternoons is added to the regular tuition amount and must be made in one, two, or ten installments. The two and ten-installment plan is available only through FACTS. The one payment plan is paid directly to the school, not through FACTS. Please Note: There is an additional $50 materials fee for students in Ambleside Afternoons.
A $75 deposit is required to hold the child’s space in the class. This deposit will be credited toward the Ambleside Afternoons tuition.
